Ahh, Gossip Girl. The only network TV program I still watch. And it has come down to the last season. According to the announcement, this will be only a 10-episode arc. We are yet to see what plot lines get set up tonight but nonetheless I feel like this is quite unfair to the fan base. Ten episodes? Doesn’t sound like nearly enough time to have closure for all the characters.

Compared to the book series who were highly controversial in the Young Adult genre, the TV program was more tame. However, they did manage to convey the edginess that the characters had on paper quite well, and even though the events were heavily edited for TV format, the characters’ actions made sense. Exclusions of course were Vanessa and Jenny who took on quite a different visage on TV, as we all know very well. The show had decent ratings for the subject matter and I think it was a CW hit. Then why the abrupt 10-episode ending? The writers running out of juice or the network’s decision?
I certainly expect a lot from the last episodes, especially since the game was upped at the end of Season 5 (Serena downspiralling, et all). I could watch a lot more of the gang, so a movie perhaps?
What are you looking forward to being resolved in Season 6? Any predictions for GG’s identity after watching tonight?
